Burglary/Security Safes
These are
designed to withstand attack (from cutting or drilling) and usually you will be
able to fix to the floor for extra protection. As they come in so many
different types, a cash rating is the easiest way to choose the one which will
suit you best. Please see here for a breakdown of how cash ratings are
allocated.
Fire Safes
These have
been tested by independent agencies (either UL or ETL) to confirm how long
documents can remain inside and not be destroyed by fire. Each safe has
different ratings ranging from 30min – 120min, how long you require protection
for depends upon the items you are storing inside. For example storing CDs will
require a different level of protection than paper documents. These are explained further in the ETL and UL
here:
Deposit Safes
A deposit
safe allows you to deposit cash/valuables in the safe without physically having
to unlock the door. As such they are very handy in retail outlets or in fact
any premise where cash is handled as it allows any member of staff to deposit
cash in the safe but only one keyholder is actually able to open it.
